Sarah Brown

Senior Energy & Climate Analyst

Sarah heads up the European fossil fuels team. Her primary focus areas include ending coal generation in the EU by 2030 and preventing false zero-carbon transition solutions such as fossil gas. Sarah has avidly produced analysis during the 2021 energy crisis to ensure that skyrocketing electricity prices are correctly blamed on gas costs rather than renewable energy or climate policies. She even had one of her charts ‘borrowed’ by the President of European Commission.

Sarah spent 15 years as an energy trader in both European and Australian markets. Immediately prior to joining Ember in October 2020, she was Head of Research & Intelligence for a global anti-human trafficking charity.

She loves travelling, trekking and trail running and used to be a volunteer mountain guide in Guatemala.
