India’s transition to clean electricity is well underway. Join our team as India embarks on its journey towards its net-zero target. This role is essential in supporting Ember’s work in informing India’s power sector policies and being a reliable voice in shaping this transition.
Ember has been working on addressing key electricity transition challenges in India for more than two years. We are now looking to amplify our impact. Be part of a dynamic team and make a difference to the world we live in.

The role

We are looking for a passionate electricity policy analyst to support our research and advocacy programme in India. You will help focus the minds of stakeholders on the policies needed to achieve a much-expanded and near-100% clean electricity system, as renewables take over from coal power in this decade.

Your primary focus will be India. However, it may extend to other countries in the South Asian region when called upon.

This is a remote role, working with a pan-Asian team and reports to Ember’s Senior Electricity Policy Analyst, Asia.

  • A natural collaborator with a disposition to work generously with colleagues
  • Fluent in English and at least one Indian language

Working at Ember

Ember is an independent energy & climate think tank, using data to drive down carbon emissions from electricity generation and to phase out coal. We gather, curate and analyse data on the global power system – and use our findings to improve energy and climate policy.

You’ll be joining us at a period of rapid growth, and be part of an innovative team that’s having a global impact in tackling climate change. We are also a founding member of Subak, the world’s first non-profit accelerator that scales climate impact through data, policy and behaviour change.

We are especially keen to encourage applications from people underrepresented in climate change analysis and campaigning. Climate change is a race issue, a class issue, and a gender issue. We welcome applicants with lived experiences of these issues.
