The UK people voted on 23 June 2016 to leave the EU. Sandbag has campaigned for the last eight years for environmentally effective policies in the EU.
Sandbag believes that both the EU and the UK must continue to work together to tackle climate change. This starts with delivering ambitious reforms of the EU Emissions Trading System and the EU Effort Sharing Decision.
Debbie Stockwell, Sandbag Managing Director, commented:
The challenge of tackling climate change will not go away, and Sandbag will continue to call for ambitious action by the EU as a whole, its Member States and the UK. Climate change is an international issue that doesn’t stop at borders and countries need to work together to deliver effective solutions to implement the Paris Agreement.
